Toyon’s Decision and Control work utilizes decentralized asset management for collaborative autonomous sensing applications. These applications have many platforms that work together to provide critical situation awareness in dynamic environments. Platforms require critical sensor observations to be made at the right place and time in order to facilitate the detection, tracking, and classification of ground based objects. Our decentralized approach intends to develop and deliver control algorithms that will collaborate at a more efficient rate than that of human ability.

To achieve this, control actions are computed by each asset based on:

  • High level statements of the missions.
  • Asset’s operating view, as computed by distributed situation awareness algorithms.
  • Each asset’s estimate of the capabilities and expected actions of each other.

Testing Facilities:
AS Team Virtual Laboratory:
SLAMEM Mission Simulation provides CONOPS based testing environment for Decision, Control, Fusion, and Tracking applications. Live test events:

  • Allows us to continually improve and ensure our software/hardware integration is flexible and acceptant of a variety of platforms.
  • Testing consists of single and multi-platform integration with our software working with 4′ to 12′ wingspan UAVs.
  • AS Team trailer, west coast based trailer to support field experimentation.

Products Include:
Decentralized Asset Manager (DAM), Decentralized Fusion and Control (DFAC), Sensor Guided Flight (SGF), Communication Planning Models.
