Building Protection Toolkit

The Building Protection Toolkit (BPTK), as part of the DARPA Immune Building Program, is a collection of software tools for modeling and analyzing CBR threats and CBR protective technologies and responses. The toolkit consists of transport models for the dispersion of CBR agents in external environments and within facilities. Simulation of human occupants and first responders, and several analytical tools for performing cost-benefit analyses are also included.

The Toyon Homeland Security group has performed the following activities for the Building protection Toolkit:

  • System requirements: working with the BPTK performers, Toyon defined, developed and wrote the high-level system and software requirements for the BPTK.

  • Analyst's manual: Toyon is currently writing the manual showing how BPTK can be used for solving various CBR problems.

  • Technical studies: Toyon has investigated several specific technical issues, principally clarifying the role of modeling and simulation in the design and implementation of an Immune Building.

  • Verification and Validation: Toyon is involved in the software testing of BPTK following DoD standard testing protocol.
